Birth Debrief
Birth debriefs are an opportunity for parents, particularly the mother or birthing parent, to reflect on and process their birth experience. It provides a safe space to discuss what happened during labour and birth, explore any emotions or concerns that have arisen, and ask questions about the events that took place.
The purpose of a birth debrief is to help parents make sense of their experience, address any unresolved feelings, and promote emotional healing. It can also offer valuable insights for future pregnancies and births, helping parents feel more informed and prepared.
I believe that debriefing your birth experience is essential in moving forward into the fourth trimester, as it not only allows a judgement-free space for you to share any grievances or moments of upset, but also the chance to revel in the experience once more if you really enjoyed the birth.
Birth debriefs can be conducted separately or together with your partner.
